CodeChix presents OpenShift - Open source Platform-as-a-Service
Let's write code not configure servers!
In this session, Steve will give a quick introduction to Platform as a Service (aka awesome-sauce for developers) with OpenShift as an example. After a few slides and your questions we will spend the rest of the time working with you to get your Web code (see the languages available on openshift.redhat.com) up and running in less than 5 minutes. We will also demonstrate how to connect your code to a back-end data store such as MongoDB and MySQL. The goal of this session is to have you leave with a laptop configured to run your code in the cloud for free!
About the Instructor:
Steve Citron-Pousty is a PaaS Dust Spreader (aka developer evangelist) with OpenShift. He goes around and shows off all the great work the OpenShift engineers do. He can teach you about PaaS with Java, PostgreSQL MongoDB, mobile JavaScript, some Android, a little bit of iPhone, and even some Python.
Food/drinks sponsored by Red Hat.
